This popped up in my news feed on facebook just now. I have read some of the comments, and they are pretty ridiculous. Wanna leave a comment too?? Just click the photo and it’ll take you right to the page.

That list of what makes a good life is full of ridiculous privilege, too.
Not everyone needs a masters or PhD to be happy, and not everyone cares about getting Honors, and not everyone can or wants to Backpack through Europe.  And most babies probably won’t discover the cure for cancer.
This is the same fallacy as “You could have killed the next President who would find World Peace!”  I mean, it could also be a serial killer. Either way, it doesn’t affect the legality of abortion, nor should it.

Dammit America

>Tell people to put their baby up for adoption>Just like the 120,000 children put up every year in America>Most (emphasis on MOST) ‘Anti-Choice are Republicans>Republicans hate depending on ‘the system’ and think Obama is a fucking commie socialist Hitler terrorist for idea like Welfare and healthcare>Put more children under care of ‘the system’, burdening it further.Conservative logic.-Alex

So, I’m a liberal atheist who is against abortion unless the child was conceived from a raping/is endangering the mother’s life.
My personal opinion? Conceiving and the chance to have a life are beautiful things, and those aborted fetuses are NOT going to ever have a another chance at any sort of existence, no reincarnation, no heaven, nothing. So, if you’re mature enough to be having sex, you should be mindful and willing to live with the potential consequences. End of story. If everyone used protection in an intelligent manner: ie, using the pill AND condoms, taking the pill AS DIRECTED (I am guilty of not doing this sometimes), or using a method that is almost 100% foolproof…we wouldn’t have to worry about over-population, or about over-populating the system.
As of this moment, birth control is FREE and ACCESSIBLE at your local Planned Parenthood. That includes condoms AND the pill. The only other step is to start teaching the youth that SEX CREATES BABIES. This seemingly important detail was missing from my vague sexual education class.
Abortion shouldn’t be illegal, but it shouldn’t have to be a form of birth control. I know people who have had 4 (and more!) abortions. That is being irresponsible. That should never happen. Be smart before an accident occurs, and if you conceive, be mature enough to live with the consequences. Grow up a little. If you’re not ready to have a baby, DON’T HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX! Geesh.
